Notocactus uebelmannianus – Rare Purple-Flowering Cactus:

Meet the cactus that dresses for the occasion. Notocactus uebelmannianus is a glossy, globe-shaped cactus from South America, with deep green skin so shiny it looks like a ripe tomato. Its spines are appressed, meaning they curve back and hug the body, which gives it a tidy, almost sculpted look that's friendlier to handle than many cacti.

Then comes the showstopper. This is one of the few cacti that blooms in rich royal purple, with satiny flowers up to 3" across crowning the top of the plant. Against that polished green body, the effect is pure drama. It's a standout on a sunny windowsill, a desk, or grouped with other cacti in a low bowl.

Easygoing and compact, it's a great pick for new cactus growers and a must-have for collectors who want something a little out of the ordinary.
