Variegated Tree Aloe

Fans of variegated aloes are in for a rare treat with this stripe-heavy form of Aloe 'Hercules', a hybrid of two tree aloes, Aloe barberae and A. dichotoma. This succulent plant sports an eye-catching combo of blue-green and yellow, each leaf marked by a series of stripes. The variegation will vary somewhat from plant to plant. This aloe features thick, long, toothed leaves that taper to points. The foliage grows in tight, upright rosette fashion, developing a stem as it ages. In time this stem will become a trunk or trunk-like component of a shrub- or tree-sized aloe. After many years, it blooms tubular salmon-pink hummingbird magnets tipped in green.

This Aloe may be on the smaller side now, but it has a bright future ahead of it as a sculptural statement plant in the garden or as a focal specimen in a decorative container. It carries the potential to tower up to 15 feet tall and 10 feet wide.
